This house was built and inhabited by Doña Gertrudis Ruiz Duarte, better known in Valladolid as Doña Tulita. Doña Tulita lived here with her five children and many of her grandchildren, to whom she left a memory full of anecdotes.
Doña Tulita, was a lover of Valladolid and always sought to help the people through her skills and knowledge. An example of this are all the skills she had: she was a midwife and a bit of a doctor, since, in the absence of doctors, she helped dozens of children to be born and cured hundreds of patients with the knowledge of traditional herbal medicine that was inherited by their ancestors. Did you have a love affair, a family problem or a difficult situation? It was very likely that you would visit her in this house, since she was famous for having the gift of clairvoyance and revelation the future through the reading of letters and, like this, many more stories.
